For those who regularly where single braids like myself, it's most likely certain that you have a specific preference when it comes to what kind of hair weave you use. There are so many different types of synthetic hair in the 'weave world', not to mention the natural human hair that many if not most braid wearers prefer.
When choosing weave for single braids there are many questions to consider. Which type stays neat longest? How heavy is the hair? Does it look natural? Does it feel natural? Do I want it to feel natural? Does it act like real hair? Do I want it to act like real hair? Will it look like a birds nest after a week?
When asking the first of the questions you must remember that the kind of hair you use will not guarantee how long your braids stay nice. That factor depends solely on how well you maintain and treat your braids. You must also consider the weight of the hair. Human hair often weighs more than sythetic hairs made from plastics or a fiber called kenekalon, which happens to be my personal preference. Kanekalon is light weight and is easy to manipulate. It can get very frizzy, but will go down with an easy dip in steamy hot water. Kanekalon feels natural, but you can also add oils like baby oil to make it soft and silky. Unlike some synthetic weaves, kanekalon can handle a flat iron! Yep, you don't have to run away from humidity. All the effects of water, dry air, etc. can be reversed. Human hair tends to get matted and dry and does not absorb moisture like kanekalon. Other synthetic hairs are too and tend to break easily or melt.
So for those who are completely lost in this vast world of weave, try kenekalon. Any brand will do as long as it reads 100% on the packaging. Go with the cheapest brands; don't let fancy names or advertising get to you. It's all the same!
Yes, braids make mornings easier and bad hair days occur less frequently, but we must remember that having braids does not mean you don't have to care for your hair each day. There is nothing less attractive than bird nest hair.

lol @ bird nest hair
what do you think of toyokalon? what is the difference of that and kanekalon? i was tired of going through the pain of having my hair routinely yanked out by silly hairdressers so i opted for a weave instead but now am out of my comfort zone and i'm not feeling it at all :(
nice website btw n keep it up.
